Bands gather Saturday for Garden City Classic

The annual Garden City Marching Band Classic will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, in Bruin Stadium on the campus of Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School.

The event, sponsored by the O-W Orange Pride Marching Band Booster Club, will feature marching bands from across South Carolina competing for top honors in their chosen divisions. Bands from the following high schools are scheduled to appear: A.C. Flora, Allendale-Fairfax, Bamberg-Ehrhardt, Blackville-Hilda, Bowman, Camden, Colleton County, Dutch Fork, Edisto, Garrett Academy, Lake City, Lake Marion, Lower Richland, Manning, Midland Valley, North, Richland Northeast, Ridge Spring-Monetta, Swansea, T.L. Hanna, Wade Hampton, Williston-Elko, Wilson and Woodland. There will also be an exhibition by the Orange Pride Marching Band.

Tickets for the event can be purchased at the gate and are $5 for adults, $3 for students ages 5 to 17, and free for children 4 years of age and younger. Concessions will be sold.
