Kimberly Jean Smith and Daniel Scott Vroon, both of Mount Pleasant, S.C., were united in marriage at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2009, at High Hampton Inn and Country Club in Cashiers, N.C.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alton Bruce Smith of Orangeburg, S.C. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Alton Smith of Orangeburg and the late Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Maurice Fogle, Sr., of Cope, S.C.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Morris Vroon of Charleston, S.C.

Officiating the ceremony was Dr. Daniel W. Massie, pastor of First Scots Presbyterian Church in Charleston, S.C.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents.

Matron of honor was Charla Roberts McDonald of Mt. Pleasant, friend of the bride.

Brides attendants were Tina Smith Barrack of Orangeburg, sister of the bride; Beth Smith Benton of Bamberg, S.C., sister of the bride; Deborah Vroon King of San Diego, CA, sister of the groom; Linda Vroon Vitollo of Albany, NY, sister of the groom; Laura Vroon Knapp of Grand Rapids, MI, sister of the groom; Jennifer Baars Vroon of Charleston, sister-in-law of the groom; Laura King Vroon of Charleston, sister-in-law of the groom; Lindsay Kristina Barrack of Orangeburg, niece of the bride and Jenna Louise King of San Diego, niece of the groom.

Best man was Paul James Conway of Charleston, friend of the groom.

Honorary groomsmen were Howard Morris Vroon, Jr., of Charleston, brother of the groom; Jonathan Mark Vroon of Charleston, brother of the groom; Kenneth Robert King of San Diego, brother-in-law of the groom; Joseph Francis Vitollo of Albany, brother-in-law of the groom; Thomas Edward Knapp of Grand Rapids, brother-in-law of the groom; Thomas Lee Barrack, Jr., of Orangeburg, brother-in-law of the bride; George Audis Benton, III, of Bamberg, brother-in-law of the bride and Thomas Alton Trent Barrack of Orangeburg, nephew of the bride.

Flower girls were Emily Elizabeth Benton and Reagan Coryn Benton of Bamberg, nieces of the bride.

Musicians were Steve Agan - Bagpiper, of Ashville, N.C. and Piedmont Brass of Greenville, S.C.

Following the lovely outdoor ceremony a reception was held at the Pavilion of High Hampton Inn. Dinner was served to 120 family and friends. Music was provided by The Blue Dogs of Charleston.

The couple will reside in Mount Pleasant.

Mrs. Vroon is a graduate of Wade Hampton Academy in Orangeburg; a graduate of the College of Charleston with a BS degree in Education and a graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law with a Juris Doctorate degree. Mrs. Vroon practices law in Charleston.

Mr. Vroon is a graduate of Simsbury High School in Simsbury, CT; a graduate of Calvin College in Grand Rapids with a BS degree in Business and a graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Business with a Masters degree. Mr. Vroon is a Senior Vice President and a Wealth Management Division Executive of First Federal.
