Lacey Victoria Howard of St. Matthews, S.C. and Michael Carlyle Borgstedt of Orangeburg, S.C., proudly announce their engagement.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Marshall Howard, Jr. of St. Matthews. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Marshall Howard, Sr., of St. Matthews; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Deese of Ranburne, AL; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Rampy; Mr. and Mrs. Edward Eason of Carrollton, GA and Ms. Betty Howard of Moncks Corner, S.C.

The bridegroom-elect is the son of Mrs. Merlynn Eugene (Kaye) Borgstedt of Orangeburg and the late Mr. Borgstedt, M.D. He is the grandson of the late Mrs. Lois Martin Williams of Elloree, S.C.; the late Mr. James Carlyle Williams, Sr., of Norway, S.C. and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Henry Lewis Borgstede of Westport, IN.

Miss Howard received a Bachelor’s degree from Winthrop University. She is currently employed as a Technical Accounts Manager at Zeus Industrial Products in Orangeburg.

Mr. Borgstedt received a Bachelor’s degree from Clemson University. He is currently employed as a Quality Manager at New Life Turf in Norway, S.C.

The wedding is planned for December 5, 2009, at First Presbyterian Church in Orangeburg.
