Shaquana Synthia Chester Dobbin

Shaquana "Quana" Synthia Chester Dobbin, 21, of 121 Kelly James Dr., St. George, died on Nov. 3, 2009.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Nov. 9, at St. Mark United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dr. John H. Elliott, pastor officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

A wake service will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, at the Ling Funeral Home Chapel.

Shaquana was born on Nov. 22, 1987, in Detroit, Mich., to Tommie L. Dobbin and the late Ernestine "Tina" Chester.

Quana graduated with honors from Woodland High in 2006, and received her cosmetology license from Dorchester County Career School. She attended Claflin University and later transferred to Trident Technical College.

Shaquana met "Chazz" Tyquon Harrison during her second year of college, and they later shared a beautiful baby girl, Madison "Maddie" Chester Dobbin.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories her father, Tommie Dobbin, St. George; grandmothers Dorothy Brothers of St. George and Catherine Doby, of Detroit, Mich.; sisters Shanique Chester of Savannah, Ga., Angela Colema of Margate, Fla., Latricia Jones of Birmingham, Ala., and Leah-Sheri Dobbin of Detroit, Mich.; a brother, Daniel Jones of Detroit, Mich.; uncles Henry Brothers, Irving Tonge, Leroy Colvin and James Colvin; aunts Rosalind Murray, Mozell Davis, Willie Mae Dobbin and a host of other relatives and friends.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ling Funeral Home of St. George.
