Christa Allyn Newman of St. Matthews, S.C. and Jesse Tyrus Sheehan of Lugoff, S.C., were united in marriage at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2009, at Pine Grove Baptist Church in Lugoff.

The bride is the daughter or Mr. and Mrs. Johnny (Beth) Newman of Orangeburg, S.C. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Conrad (Nettie) Martin of Orangeburg and the late Mr. Charles Newman and Mrs. Linda Newman LaRussa of Columbia, S.C.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Tyrus (Marian) Sheehan of Lugoff. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest (Mildred) McDonald of Lugoff and Ms. Gladys Sheehan of Columbia.

Officiating the ceremony was Rev. Doug Whitfield.

The bride was given in marriage by her father.

Maid of honor was Miss Brittany Newman of Aiken, S.C., sister of the bride.

Bridesmaids were Miss Jordan Newman of Columbia, sister of the bride; Miss Summer Newman of Orangeburg, sister of the bride; Ms. Brandy Bradshaw of Boiling Springs, NC, friend of the bride; Mrs. Shelley Collins of Lexington, S.C., friend of the bride and Miss Mindy Risvold of Elgin, S.C., friend of the couple.

Honorary attendants were Miss Betsy Brooks of Pomaria, S.C., friend of the bride and Miss Kellie Furr of Columbia, friend of the bride.

The bridegroom’s father served as best man.

Groomsmen were Mr. Josh Sheehan of Lugoff, brother of the groom; Mr. Kyle Tomlinson of Lugoff, friend of the groom; Mr. Carl Brazell of Elgin, friend of the groom; Mr. Kyle Dickey of Camden, S.C., friend of the groom and Mr. Matt Baker of Lugoff, friend of the groom.

Ring bearer was Mr. William Porter, III, of Orangeburg, cousin of the bride.

Flower girl was Miss Skyler Fagan of Boiling Springs, friend of the bride.

Following the ceremony a reception was held in the church fellowship hall.

After a wedding cruise to Mexico the couple will reside in St. Matthews.

Mrs. Sheehan is a 2005 graduate of Columbia College with a B.A. degree in Sports Management. She is currently employed as a Claims Adjuster for S.C. Farm Bureau Insurance Company.

Mr. Sheehan is a 2004 graduate of Central Carolina Technical College with an Associates degree in Natural Resource Management. He is currently self employed with Palmetto Property and Wildlife Services, LLC.
