Alice F. Jones of Orangeburg, S.C. and Roosevelt Norwood of Columbia, S.C., were united in marriage at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2009, at Prospect United Methodist Church in Rowesville, S.C.

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Loretta Garvin of Branchville, S.C. and the late Mr. Marion Garvin, Jr.

The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Edna Norwood of Gloster, MS and the late Mr. George Norwood, II.

Rev. Annie Sistrunk officiated the ceremony.

The bride was given in marriage by her brothers: Mr. Larry Garvin of Bowman, S.C., Mr. Curtis Garvin of Jacksonville, FL and Mr. Marion J. Garvin of Rowesville.

Maids of honor were Ms. Jennifer T. Murph of Orangeburg, best friend of the bride and Ms. Brenda Ravenell of Elloree, S.C., friend of the bride.

Matrons of honor were sisters of the bride: Ms. Patricia Brown of Branchville; Mrs. Elizabeth Rivers of St. George, S.C. and Mrs. Carolyn Wigfall of Orangeburg.

Bridesmaids were Ms. Yvette Bell of Fayetteville, N.C., friend of the groom; Mrs. Marie Garvin of Rowesville, sister-in-law of the bride; Mrs. Akila Brunson of Columbia, S.C., niece of the bride; Ms. Courtney Golden of North, S.C., friend of the bride; Ms. Latonya Jones of Orangeburg, daughter of the bride; Ms. Quintina Jones of Orangeburg, daughter of the bride; Ms. Norma Nash of Reevesville, S.C., friend of the bride; Ms. Jasmine Norwood of Columbia, daughter of the groom; Ms. Yvonne Simmons of Columbia, adopted sister of the bride; Ms. Lakeicha Waiters of Orangeburg, friend of the bride and Ms. Georgette Walters of Charlotte, N.C., friend of the bride.

Best men were Mr. George Norwood, III, of Summitt, MS, brother of the groom and Mr. Calvin Witherspoon of Columbia, friend of the groom.

Groomsmen were Mr. Craig Berry of Columbia, friend of the groom; Mr. Curtis Garvin of Jacksonville, brother of the bride; Mr. Curtis Tivon Garvin of Jacksonville, nephew of the bride; Mr. Larry Garvin of Bowman, brother of the bride; Mr. Marion Garvin of Rowesville, brother of the bride; Mr. Tremaine Garvin of Rowesville, nephew of the bride; Mr. Trumaine Norwood of Gloster, nephew of the groom; Mr. Jerry Norwood of Gloster, brother of the groom; Mr. Jeremy Rivers of St. George, nephew of the bride; Mr. Ira Sheppard of Columbus, GA, friend of the groom and Mr. Michael Wigfall of Orangeburg, brother-in-law of the bride.

Flower girls were Little Miss Aniya Baxter of Orangeburg, granddaughter of the bride; Little Miss Amya Norwood of Columbia, granddaughter of the groom and Little Miss Lashonte Roman of Columbia, niece of the bride.

Bell ringer was Master Shelmar Collier of Branchville, nephew of the bride.

Ring bearer was Master Quishawn Norwood of Columbia, grandson of the groom.

Following the ceremony a reception was held in The Garden Room in Orangeburg.

The couple will take a wedding trip to the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Mrs. Norwood is a graduate of Branchville High School. She is currently employed by Orangeburg Consolidated School District 4 at Branchville High School.

Mr. Norwood is a graduate of Amite High School in Mississippi. He is currently employed by Fort Jackson in Ammunition Supplies.
