Trinity Cathedral Bazaar set for Saturday

COLUMBIA -- Sample some of the Midlands' tastiest baked goods and shop for the holidays at the 61st annual Trinity Cathedral Bazaar from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, at the Cathedral Block, 1100 Sumter St. in downtown Columbia.

One of the largest church bazaars in the Southeast, the event will feature bread and baked goods, pickles and jams, boutique clothing, books, needlework, gift baskets, Christmas items, books, and used clothing and toys. The bazaar also will include a children's carnival with games and prizes, train rides and pony rides (weather permitting).

Guests are invited to enjoy a lunch of shrimp salad, ham delights barbecue and soup while listening to local bands and choirs.

New this year is the Trinity Silent Auction, which will feature items from antiques and custom bedding to gift certificates and vacations homes.

Sponsored by the Daughters of the Holy Cross, the bazaar raises funds for local nonprofit agencies, including Epworth Early Intervention Center, Family Shelter, Harvest Hope Food Bank, Homeworks of America and St. Lawrence Place.

Wesley Christian School plans Fall Festival

Wesley Christian School in Orangeburg will hold a Fall Festival from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20-21, in the Southern Methodist College Gymnasium.

Items available at the festival will include used books, household and miscellaneous items, Christmas ornaments and decorations, gift items, used children's clothing and shoes, furniture and toys, baked goods, chili and corn bread, cotton candy, popcorn, face painting, carnival games and more.
