Lloyd completes development school
Monday, November 23, 2009An Orangeburg County official graduated from the South Carolina Economic Development School.
Orangeburg County Deputy Administrator Marion Lloyd graduated from SCEDS.
SCEDS is a partnership of the South Carolina Department of Commerce, the South Carolina Economic Developers’ Association, and the Tate Center for Entrepreneurship at the College of Charleston.
The purpose of SCEDS is to educate those who support the economic development professionals in their communities.
These supporters come from a wide variety of organizations including city and county councils, county development boards, school boards, utility companies, local/state government, banks and others. Practitioners and academicians make up the faculty.
Graduates of the SCEDS program attend four two-day sessions, focusing on community and economic development topics including: traditional vs. non-traditional development, leadership, strategic planning, marketing, workforce and infrastructure development, existing industry, sites and buildings and international trade.
