Chestnut Grill: ‘Deliciously affordable’
From its beginning until today, Chestnut Grill has stayed true to the motto: “We stay deliciously affordable.”
Owned by Jim Albergotti, the restaurant that began 22-1/2 years ago as Mr. Steak became today’s Chestnut Grill in 1990. Albergotti broke away from Mr. Steak in the mid-1980s when the franchise was burdened by closing restaurants and bankruptcy.
Creating Chestnut Grill also meant a shift from frozen to fresh foods.
“The use of frozen items within our menu is kept to a minimum. We know fresh is best and we buy grade A and better products. This value is passed on to tour guests,” Albergotti said.
Chestnut Grill features the basic American fare of steaks, chicken and seafood cooked to order. Menu choices are prepared in a variety of ways. A variety of specialties rotate on and off the menu as it changes about once a year.
“We are a restaurant that always offers more than menu-only as we create specials and features every day,” Albergotti said.
